I work with clients to identify behaviours that are unwanted/problematic for their pet, but it is not a diagnosis. A DVM must make a behavioural diagnosis for the cases I include in my VTS-B application.
The behaviour diagnosis does not have to come from this list. These are options a referring DVM can consider if it helps specify their patient's behavioural disorder or provide direction on following their prescribed treatment plan.
DVMs do not need to use this list if a behaviour diagnosis is already identified in the patient's EMR.

Radiant Cats acknowledges that I am a settler that resides on land referred to as Treaty 6 Territory, which is the traditional and ancestral lands of the Nêhiyaw (Nay-hee-yow), Dene (Deh-neyh), Anishinaabe (Ah-nish-in-ah-bay), Nakota Isga (Na-koh-tah ee-ska), Niitsitapi (Nit-si-tahp-ee), Métis (May-tea), and Inuit peoples. I recognize that amiskwacîwâskahikan, colonially known as Edmonton has been called home by many Indigenous peoples since time immemorial. I am committed to learning about, honouring, and celebrating Indigenous ways of knowing and their connections to the animals who share this land with us.
